Hirapur: 15kms from Bhubaneswar is the site of the 11th century Hypethral Temple of sixty four Yoginis carved from black chlorite, is one of the four yogini Temples in India.
Atri: Situated about 42kms from Bhubaneswar, 14 kms from Khurdha Atri is best known for its hot sulphur spring and the Lord Hatakeswar Temple. The water temperature remains a constant 55 deg.c and is believed to have medicinal properties. The country side leading to the spring is particularly pretty and just a drive to reach there is well worth the effort. Panthanivas 
Bhusandapur: A picnic spot-One way to Balugaon along NH.No.5 from Bhubaneswar, one can visit the shrine of Ugratara at Bhusandapur(65 kms.). The image of a four-armed Chamunda worshipped as Ugratara is believed to be the tutelary deity of the Gajapati Kings of Orissa.This place is connected by a good motorable road.
Barunai: Barunai a scenic spot, attracts thousands of visitors. Barunai, the presiding deity of the place adorns the hill top. The shadow mango groves  with a perennial spring called `swarna Ganga’ provide a pleasant atmosphere for the picnickers. Bus services are available upto Khurdha. One can hire taxies or Auto rickshaw to reach the place.
Kantilo: A picnic spot 100 kms from Bhubaneswar and 70 kms from Khurdha, on the bank of river Mahanadi, famous for Lord Nilamadhaba temple on the top of the twin hills w surrounded by green forest. The presiding deity of the place is believed to be the earlier form of Lord Jagannath of Puri. Permanent secretion of holy water from the feet of Lord Nilamadhaba and the movement of the great Shakti of Lord Siddheswar to north and south according to sunrise and sunset are the two wonderful sights to be seen here. Regular bus services are available from both the places. PWD Inspection Bungalow(Authority Executive Engineer R&B, Bhubaneswar and Panchayat Dharmasala(Authority Sarpanch, Kantilo G.P.) available for the stay.
Barmul :  A picnic spot. This small village gets prominence due to the magnificient Mahanadi gorge on the bank of which it is situated. From Sunakania hill up to Barmul the course of the river is known as ‘SATAKOSIA GANDA” having a water spread of about 22 kms. Regular bus services are available up to Gania  while rest 14 kms are jeepable.
Banapur: Famous for Goddess Bhagabati, Once it was the capital of Sailodvaba dynasty, responsible for the construction of the early group of temples at Bhubaneswar.  The large number of Buddhist images discovered at Banapur relate the place to the Vajrayan cult of Buddhism. The temple of ‘Dakshya Prajapati” is a fine specimen of extraordinary artistic excellence of Orissan art. It is 8 kms from Balugaon and 106 kms from Bhubaneswar connected by bus services.
Odagaon: Famous for the temple of Lord Raghunath Jee. It is one of the few temples in Orissa dedicated to Lord Ramachandra. Ramanavami is the most important festival celebrated here. From Bhubaneswar, it is said that the renowned poet of Orissa Upendra Bhanja mediated here and attained perfection in Ram Taraka Mantra. This temple is built around 1903. The ‘Kalas’ of the temple appears to be gold plated. Besides this temple we can see the Daitakeswar temple and the Budha Budhiani temple. Regular bus services are available to this place.
